You must log and have 25 hours of driving experience signed off, with your time recorded on a Category R or higher boat.
Yes, a standard medical fitness exam is required. This is a simple, basic examination that can be conducted by any general practitioner. The eye test is also included in this exam and does not need to be performed by an optometrist.
The theory and practical exam is a one-day course (8:30 to 14:00) that includes a theory session followed by an exam. Once the theory exam is completed, the practical assessment takes place.
